Walking across the gardens you will enjoy the view of straight avenues, trimmed trees, shrubs, numerous sculptures of the early 18th century and of course, fountains. The total number of the fountains in the park is over 150. The fountains work the whole day from morning till evening without stops due to the unique water supply system offered by Peter I. This residence was also devised to be a kind monument to Russia’s glorious victory over Sweden in the Northern war which lasted 21 years. Dominating the grounds is the beautiful palace named after Peter I’s wife Catherine I.
